I'm Troy Weidenheimer. Folks
call me "Rakun" (raccoon) because
I'm always always bustling around getting into stuff.
I've taught over 1,000
private students, plus scores of workshops around the country,
helping
aspiring guitar, mandolin and electric bass players become more skillful, confident performers of folk, bluegrass and country music. I've
performed professionally throughout the US and Canada in bands as a lead
guitarist, mandolinist and bassist, and also individually as a
singer/songwriter.
I present folk, bluegrass and
country music instrumental technique
and jamming workshops in music stores,
studios, music festivals and camps. These multi-hour, full day or
week-long adult workshops, called LabClasses are
fun, fast-paced, highly interactive, and hands-on.
About 85% of workshop time
consists of students playing their instruments, working through the easy-to-
follow tablature and chord/lyric sheets we prepare specifically for each workshop. I
demonstrate each technique, and help individual students. We also prepare and
supply colorful posters and flyers your organization will find
effective in
promoting the Rakun Music Workshops.
I've owned and
operated my own music store and school, and worked as a factory
representative for both Gibson and Fender guitar companies - so I
fully understand the importance of professionalism in working with organizations who host my workshops.
Please contact me well in
advance of your upcoming workshop opportunities to discuss my
availability, possible music workshop topics, and how your organization may profit from my workshops
financially, and through attracting new customers or patrons.
